Yesterday we took a walking tour of the Marienplatz area of Munich, learning about the historic city hall and churches. Afterward we had dinner at a traditional Bavarian restaurant with Jürgen Chrobog, Chairman of Board at BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt and the former German Ambassador to the U.S. from 1996-2001. His commentary on global politics did not differ much from the French Ambassador whom we dined with a week ago, which means that it's far too much for me to take in all at once. Mainly the challenge of a true European cooperative region, the promise of the Lisbon Treaty thanks to Ireland's vote and the need for NATO to transform itself. I have lots to say and more to share but my free time has been short so far... Here are few pictures in the meantime... thoughts to come.
